Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 can 21 oz strawberry pie filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese, cubed
  • 1 box vanilla or white cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, chopped optional for topping

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the dish. Top it with the cubed cream cheese.
  3. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the top. Do not stir.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, milk, and vanilla. Pour this mixture evenly over the dry cake mix.
  5. If you'd like, sprinkle some chopped fresh strawberries on top.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Cool slightly before serving. This dessert is delicious warm or chilled!

Notes

Use a butter knife or spatula to gently spread the strawberry filling and cream cheese for even layers. For added texture, consider mixing in a few crushed graham crackers into the cake mix before sprinkling it on top. Experiment with different fruits – blueberry or cherry pie filling can also work well for a different flavor profile.
