Ingredients
  

For the salmon
  • 2 pieces salmon fillets Make sure to pat them dry before seasoning.
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour For dredging the salmon.
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning the salmon.
For the sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For cooking the salmon.
  • 2 tablespoons butter To melt for the caper sauce.
  • 1/4 cup capers Adds tanginess to the sauce.
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth Can substitute with vegetable broth for a vegetarian option.
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice Enhances the flavor profile of the dish.
  • to taste Chopped parsley For garnish before serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper, then dredge in flour, shaking off any excess.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the salmon fillets and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden and cooked through.
  3. Once done, remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt the butter.
  5. Add the capers and cook for about 1 minute.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and lemon juice, stirring to combine, and bring to a simmer.
  7. Return the salmon to the skillet and cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
Serving
  1. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve.

Notes

For best results, avoid overcrowding the skillet when cooking the salmon; work in batches if necessary. You can add a splash of white wine to the sauce for extra flavor.
