Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange the cabbage slices on the prepared baking sheet, brush them with olive oil, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Bake for 10 minutes.
Beef Mixture
- While the cabbage is roasting, combine the ground beef, onion, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Gently mix until evenly distributed.
Assembly
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and place a mound of the beef mixture on each cabbage slice, pressing it into a patty shape.
- Spread a small amount of mayonnaise and Dijon mustard over each patty, then top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Final Baking
- Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the burgers rest for 5 minutes, then serve hot.
Notes
These cabbage burgers are best enjoyed hot out of the oven. Serve them with a side salad or some roasted vegetables for a complete meal. You can also add extra toppings like sliced tomatoes or pickles for a refreshing crunch. Ensure to cut the cabbage into uniform slices for even cooking and feel free to adjust seasonings according to your taste.
