  • 1 lb Ground Beef or Turkey Substitute chicken or vegetarian alternatives if desired.
  • 1 small head Cabbage Sliced into thick rounds.
  • 1 medium Onion Finely chopped; shallots can be used for a milder flavor.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced; garlic powder can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika Regular paprika is an alternative.
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce Soy sauce can be used for a different flavor.
  • 1 large Egg Optional for binding; can substitute with flaxseed meal for vegan.
Cabbage Preparation Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil For brushing on cabbage.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the ground meat, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and egg if using. Mix until well combined.
  3. Take thick cabbage slices and brush each side with olive oil.
  4. Place a generous amount of the meat mixture on top of each cabbage slice, forming a burger shape.
Cooking
  1. Arrange the cabbage burgers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the meat is cooked through and the cabbage is slightly crispy.
  3. Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

These cabbage burgers are great on their own but can also be served with your favorite dipping sauces, such as ketchup or a creamy sauce. You can pair them with a side salad or some roasted veggies for a complete meal. Adjust spices to taste; consider adding cheese for a melty twist.
