  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons ceremonial grade matcha powder Use high-quality matcha for the best flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix-ins
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips Can substitute with dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking dish by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, matcha powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in the white chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Let cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

Serve matcha brownies warm or at room temperature. They pair wonderfully with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Dust with extra matcha powder for presentation. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or freeze for up to three months, wrapped well to prevent freezer burn. Don't overmix the batter for a fudgy texture.
