Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries (or thawed frozen blackberries) Fresh berries yield the best flavor.
  • ½ cup fresh lemon juice (about 3-4 lemons) Juice should be freshly squeezed.
  • 4-5 leaves fresh basil leaves Basil adds aromatic flavor.
  • 3 cups cold water Adjust water amount for desired concentration.
  • ½ cup ice For serving.
  • ¼ cup keto-friendly sweetener (monk fruit, erythritol, or allulose) Sweetener should be dissolved in warm water.
  • Optional: Sparkling water For a fizzy version.

Preparation
  1. Muddle the blackberries and basil in a bowl until the berries are broken down and juicy.
  2. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher to remove seeds (optional).
  3. Squeeze the lemons and add the fresh lemon juice to the blackberry mixture.
  4. Dissolve the sweetener in a little warm water, then stir it into the lemonade.
  5. Add cold water and mix well. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  6. Serve over ice and enjoy! Add sparkling water if you want a fizzy version.

Notes

Store any leftovers in a sealed pitcher in the refrigerator for up to three days. If you added sparkling water, it's best enjoyed fresh.
