Ingredients
  

For the Burgers
  • 1 lb ground beef Use 80/20 for best flavor and juiciness.
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese Can substitute with other cheese varieties.
  • 4 large lettuce leaves Romaine or iceberg works well.
Toppings
  • 1/4 cup diced pickles
  • 1/4 cup diced onions Red or white onions are suitable.
  • 1/4 cup sugar-free mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper To taste.

Method
 

Cooking the Burgers
  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and form them into balls.
  3. Place the balls on the skillet and smash them down with a spatula to form burger patties.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, and cook for 3-4 minutes on one side.
  5. Flip the burgers, place a slice of cheese on each one, and cook for another 2-3 minutes or until the cheese melts.
Assembly
  1. To assemble, place each burger patty on a lettuce leaf, add pickles, onions, and a drizzle of mayonnaise and mustard.
  2. Wrap the lettuce around the burger and enjoy!

Notes

Serve these burgers right away while they’re hot and the cheese is melted. Can pair with a side salad or keto-friendly vegetables. For leftovers, store cooked patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
