Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8-inch round cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Incorporate the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is mixed well before adding the next. Follow with the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add half of the dry mixture to the butter mixture, followed by the guava juice and sour cream. Mix in the remaining dry ingredients until well combined.
- If desired, swirl in the guava jam for added flavor.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Finishing Touches
- Once cooled, drizzle with icing glaze and top with guava syrup.
Notes
Store leftovers wrapped in plastic wrap or in an airtight container. Room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerated for up to a week. Can freeze for up to 3 months.
