Ingredients
  

For the Chicken Marinade
  • 500 g chicken breast, diced Can substitute with chicken thighs for richer flavor.
  • 1 cup yogurt Used for marinating.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala Use freshly ground for better flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • Salt to taste
For the Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter Used for sautéing onions.
  • 1 onion chopped Sauté until soft.
  • 1 can (400g) tomato puree Adds richness to the sauce.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can substitute some with coconut milk for a lighter version.
For Serving
  • Fluffy rice or naan To be served alongside the dish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Marinate the diced chicken in yogurt, garlic, ginger, garam masala, cumin, turmeric, and salt for at least 30 minutes.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the onions until soft.
  2. Add the marinated chicken to the skillet and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in the tomato puree and simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and simmer for an additional 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serving
  1. Serve with fluffy rice or warm naan. Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired.

Notes

For a spicy kick, consider adding chopped green chilies to the onion mixture. You can also add vegetables like peas or bell peppers for extra nutrition and color. Marination is key for flavor and tenderness.
