Ingredients

Steak Ingredients
  • 2 pieces ribeye, New York strip, or filet steaks (about 1½" thick)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1.5 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 1 pat Garlic herb compound butter

Method

Preparation
  1. About 20 to 30 minutes before grilling, take the steaks out of the refrigerator.
  2. Brush each steak with olive oil, then sprinkle evenly with salt and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your grill to high heat.
  2. Place the steaks on the grill and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, then flip them over.
  3. Cook for an additional 3 to 5 minutes for medium rare, using an instant thermometer to check the temperature.
  4. Once done, remove the steaks from the grill, top with a pat of Garlic Herb Compound Butter, and cover with foil.
  5. Let the steaks sit for about 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

Notes

Let your steaks sit at room temperature before cooking to ensure even cooking. Always use a meat thermometer to achieve desired doneness. Resting the steak after grilling is crucial for tenderness.
