Ingredients

For the cake base
  • 1 package Marias cookies These crisp cookies create the perfect texture and base
  • 1 can Non-stick cooking spray Prevents sticking and ensures a clean release from the springform pan
For the cream cheese filling
  • 10 oz Guava paste Adds tropical sweetness
  • 3 packages Cream cheese Soft and creamy, enhances richness
  • 1 cup Sweetened condensed milk Brings additional layer of sweetness
  • 2 tablespoons Lime juice Adds acidity to balance sweetness
For the topping
  • 1 cup Remaining guava sauce Drizzled on top before serving
  • 1 cup Whipped cream Optional, for light topping

Method

Preparation
  1. Prepare your springform pan by spraying it with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Arrange the Marias cookies at the base of the pan, overlapping slightly as needed.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, lime juice, and guava paste until smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cookie base evenly.
  5. Allow the mixture to chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  6. Before serving, drizzle the remaining guava sauce over the top and add whipped cream, if you wish.

Notes

Ensure your cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing. For a richer flavor, you can add a hint of vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture. If you can't find guava paste, you can substitute it with guava puree or another fruit preserve that captures the essence of tropical sweetness. This cake pairs beautifully with coffee or tea for an afternoon treat.
