  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.75 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup candy crystals or rock candy (variety of colors)

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing in vanilla until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture; stir until just combined.
  6. Fold in candy crystals gently.
  7. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
  8. Cool slightly before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

These cookies can be served warm or at room temperature. For a decorative touch, add extra candy crystals on top right after baking. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze for longer storage if needed.
