Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F and place a cast iron skillet inside to heat up.
- In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, and thyme. Set this flavorful garlic herb butter aside.
- Take your steaks and pat them dry with paper towels. Season them generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Cooking
- Carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven. Add the olive oil to the skillet.
- Place the seasoned steaks in the hot skillet and sear them for 2–3 minutes on each side until they have a nice brown crust.
- Once seared, top each steak with a generous amount of the garlic herb butter.
- Transfer the skillet back to the oven. Cook the steaks until they reach your desired level of doneness, usually about 5–10 minutes, depending on thickness.
- After cooking, let the steaks rest for 5–10 minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.
Notes
Serve with roasted vegetables or a fresh salad. Reheat leftovers in a skillet or microwave to avoid overcooking.
