Ingredients

Steaks and Seasoning
  • 2 pieces steaks (ribeye, strip, or sirloin, 1–1½ inches thick) Choose high-quality cuts for best flavor.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil For searing the steaks.
  • to taste Salt and black pepper Season generously.
Garlic Herb Butter
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (softened) Bring to room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced) Adds flavor.
  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme (finely chopped)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and place a cast iron skillet inside to heat up.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, and thyme. Set this flavorful garlic herb butter aside.
  3. Take your steaks and pat them dry with paper towels. Season them generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Cooking
  1. Carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven. Add the olive oil to the skillet.
  2. Place the seasoned steaks in the hot skillet and sear them for 2–3 minutes on each side until they have a nice brown crust.
  3. Once seared, top each steak with a generous amount of the garlic herb butter.
  4. Transfer the skillet back to the oven. Cook the steaks until they reach your desired level of doneness, usually about 5–10 minutes, depending on thickness.
  5. After cooking, let the steaks rest for 5–10 minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.

Notes

Serve with roasted vegetables or a fresh salad. Reheat leftovers in a skillet or microwave to avoid overcooking.
