Cabbage Steaks Ingredients
  • 1 head head of cabbage
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil For brushing the cabbage
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (like parsley, thyme, or rosemary), chopped Herbs can be customized based on preference
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Slice the cabbage into thick steaks (about 1 inch).
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, fresh herbs, salt, and pepper.
  4. Brush both sides of the cabbage steaks with olive oil and then spread the herb butter mixture on top.
Roasting
  1. Place the cabbage steaks on a baking sheet and roast in the oven for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until tender and caramelized.
Serving
  1. Serve warm as a side dish.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or on a skillet. Make sure to use a sharp knife when cutting the cabbage. Adjust the garlic and herbs to taste. Broil for extra crunch if desired.
