  • 6 slices 6 slices of bread Use firm bread like brioche or Texas toast.
  • 4 large 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup sugar Increase sugar for a sweeter cup.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch Pinch of salt
  • as needed Cooking spray or butter for greasing muffin tin

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a muffin tin with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Cut the bread into cubes and fill each muffin cup with the bread.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread cubes, pressing down gently to soak the bread.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden and puffed.
  2. Allow to cool slightly before removing the French toast cups from the muffin tin.
  3. Serve warm.

Notes

For added flavor, consider sprinkling nuts like walnuts or pecans on top before baking. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
