Meatball Ingredients
  • 1 pound Ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
Sauce Ingredients
  • 1 can Canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 small Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese, garlic, fresh parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Cooking
  1. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  2. Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning, letting the mixture simmer for a few minutes.
  3. Pour the tomato sauce over the meatballs on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through and browned on the outside.
  5. Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

These meatballs are versatile! You can serve them with spaghetti and marinara sauce, in a sub roll for a meatball sandwich, or on their own as a hearty snack. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
