Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them a few inches apart.
Baking
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Delightful on their own or paired with a glass of cold milk. For extra flavor, sprinkle sea salt on top before baking. Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
