  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water Ensure it's warm but not hot for yeast activation.
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast

  • ½ cup cheddar cheese Optional.
  • ½ cup sliced mushrooms
  • ½ cup sliced green bell peppers or jalapeños
  • Pepperoni slices Use as desired.
  • Additional shredded mozzarella For topping.
  • Extra pepperoni and vegetables For garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and salt together.
  2. Dissolve the yeast in warm water, then add it to the flour mixture.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth, then let it rise until it doubles in size.
  4. Press the risen dough into a greased deep-dish pan.
Assembly
  1. Brown the ground beef or sausage in a skillet, then layer it on the dough.
  2. Spread pizza sauce over the meat, then add mozzarella, vegetables, and pepperoni.
  3. Sprinkle more cheese, pepperoni, and extra veggies on top.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the oven until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

Notes

Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm, ideally with a side salad or garlic bread. Ensure water is warm but not hot for yeast activation, and let the crust pre-bake to prevent sogginess.
