  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 1 cup guava juice Use fresh for an authentic taste.
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 3 pieces eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Glaze
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cream

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the guava juice and vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. While the cake is cooling, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar and cream until smooth.
  3. Once cool, drizzle the glaze over the cake.
