Dough Preparation
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a small bowl and let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, mix all-purpose flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Stir until a shaggy dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for an hour.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 500°F, placing a pizza stone or inverted baking sheet inside to heat.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out on parchment paper into a thin 12-inch circle.
- Brush the dough with olive oil and sprinkle garlic powder, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper over it.
- Add mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, lemon zest, and drizzle fresh lemon juice on top.
- Slide the pizza onto the hot stone or baking sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Let the pizza rest for 2 minutes before slicing.
