Ingredients

For the Cheese Balls
  • 12 oz Mozzarella cheese (Low-moisture, cut into 1-inch cubes)
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 large Eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs (Panko preferred) Use panko for extra crunch.
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ¼ tsp Black pepper
  • ½ tsp Garlic powder (optional)
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
  • Vegetable or canola oil (for frying) Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by cutting the mozzarella cheese into 1-inch cubes. Lay them out on a plate or baking sheet.
  2. In three separate bowls, place the flour in one, the beaten eggs in the second, and the breadcrumbs mixed with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning in the third.
  3. Take each cube of mozzarella, coat it in flour first, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally roll it in the breadcrumb mixture until it is fully covered.
Frying
  1. In a large pan, heat vegetable or canola oil over medium heat.
  2. Once hot, carefully add the breaded mozzarella balls. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown.
  3. Remove and let them drain on paper towels.
Serving
  1. Enjoy the cheese balls while they are hot for the best taste and texture! They pair well with marinara sauce, ranch, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

If you have leftover cheese balls, allow them to cool completely, then store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will last for up to 3 days. To reheat, place them in an oven or air fryer for a few minutes to regain their crispiness. You can make these cheese balls with different types of cheese, such as cheddar or pepper jack, for a different flavor experience. Feel free to add small pieces of jalapeño or herbs to the cheese mixture for an extra kick.
