Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef, turkey, or chicken Choose your preferred meat.
  • 1 tbsp taco seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 sheet refrigerated pizza dough or crescent roll dough Use store-bought for convenience.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional) Add for extra cheesiness.
  • 1–2 tsp melted butter For brushing on top.
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional) Sprinkle on top before baking.
Optional Add-ins
  • diced jalapeños, onions, black beans, corn, olives Customize according to preference.
Dips
  • salsa, guacamole, sour cream, or ranch Serve with your favorite dips.

Method

Cooking Meat
  1. Brown the ground meat in a skillet over medium heat. Drain the excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning and a splash of water. Cook until everything is well coated and slightly saucy. Let it cool slightly.
Preparing Dough
  1. Roll out the pizza or crescent dough on a lightly floured surface. Cut the dough into rectangles or strips.
Assembling Sticks
  1. Spoon some of the meat mixture onto each piece of dough. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and add any optional extras you like. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch or crimp the edges tightly.
Baking
  1. Place the sticks seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serving
  1. Let the taco sticks cool slightly before serving. Pair them with your favorite dips like salsa, guacamole, sour cream, or ranch.

Notes

Make sure to pinch the dough edges tightly to prevent the filling from leaking out during baking. You can experiment with different cheeses or add spices to the meat mixture for extra flavor. For a healthier version, use ground turkey or chicken and add more veggies inside.
