Ingredients

Egg Roll Filling
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (to cook the ground beef)
  • 1 pound ground beef Choose lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1/4 cup yellow onion (diced) Optional: can use shallots for a milder flavor.
  • 1/3 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/3 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup pickles (diced) Dill pickles work best.
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon crumbles
  • 4 slices American cheese Can substitute with your favorite cheese.
  • 12 pieces egg roll wrappers
  • 1/2 cup water (cold) Used for sealing the egg rolls.
  • 1/2 teaspoon olive oil (for brushing egg rolls) To achieve a crispy texture.
Dipping Sauce
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/3 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Method

Preparation
  1. Make the dipping sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, black pepper, and garlic powder. Cover and set it in the fridge.
  2. Prepare the filling: Cook ground beef and diced onions in a skillet with olive oil until the beef is browned and onions are translucent. Mix in the seasonings, ketchup, pickles, bacon, and cheese until melted. Let it thicken before removing it from the heat.
Assembly
  1. Lay out an egg roll wrapper, wet the edges, fill it with the cheeseburger mixture, and roll it tightly. Brush the outside with olive oil for an added crispy texture.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C). Place the rolls in a single layer in your air fryer basket and cook until golden brown, flipping halfway through for even crisping.

Notes

Store leftover egg rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to regain their crispness. Ensure the filling is not too wet to avoid soggy egg rolls.
