Cooking
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage patty until it's browned and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes.
- While the sausage cooks, crack the egg into a bowl and scramble it, adding a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Once the sausage is done, pour the scrambled egg into the same skillet and cook until the egg is set, about 2-3 minutes.
- To build the sandwich, place one slice of bread in the skillet and add the cooked egg, sausage patty, and cheese slice on top.
- Top with the second slice of bread to form a sandwich.
- Butter the outer sides of the sandwich and cook in the skillet until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, flipping once.
- Remove the sandwich from the skillet, slice it in half, and serve warm.
Notes
This sandwich can be enjoyed with fresh fruit, crispy hash browns, or yogurt. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. To reheat, place in a skillet over low heat or toaster oven.
