Ingredients
  

For the Mojito
  • 5 fresh blackberries Use ripe blackberries for the best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon natural cane sugar Adjust sugar to taste.
  • 5-6 fresh basil leaves, washed and torn Muddle gently for stronger flavor.
  • 1 ounce white rum Can substitute with vodka or gin.
  • 1 ounce Manischewitz blackberry wine
  • to top off seltzer seltzer Add just before serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Combine blackberries, lime juice, sugar, and basil in the bottom of a clean highball glass.
  2. Muddle the ingredients together until the berries have been crushed.
  3. Add crushed ice halfway up the glass, then pour in the rum and Manischewitz wine, stirring to combine well.
  4. Top off with seltzer and garnish with a lime wedge.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh. Store leftover liquid mixture (without seltzer) in the refrigerator for up to a day. Mix seltzer just before serving to retain fizz.
