Pizza Base Ingredients
  • 1 piece pizza dough Homemade or store-bought
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries Can substitute with other berries
  • 4 slices bacon Cook until crispy and crumbled
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves Adjust to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Can experiment with other cheeses
Additional Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For brushing the pizza dough
  • to taste salt and pepper For seasoning

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy, then crumble it.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface.
Grilling
  1. Brush one side of the dough with olive oil and place that side down on the grill.
  2. Grill for 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden.
  3. Flip the dough and spread the blackberries, mozzarella cheese, crumbled bacon, and basil on top.
  4. Close the grill lid and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  5. Remove from the grill, season with salt and pepper, and serve warm.

Notes

Serve the pizza warm, with a light salad or white wine. Cut into squares for appetizers. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or grill to maintain crust texture.
