  • 0.5 cup nut butter Use a high-protein nut butter for added protein.
  • 2 cups rolled oats Can substitute half with ground flaxseed or chia seeds.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup Adjust sweetness according to taste.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use dairy-free chips for a vegan version.
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a 9×9 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, nut butter, rolled oats, cinnamon, vanilla extract, maple syrup, chocolate chips, and salt. Stir until everything is well mixed.
  3. Transfer the mixture to your lined baking pan and flatten with a spatula into an even layer. Optionally, sprinkle a few chocolate chips on top.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes or until the edges are golden and the center appears set.
  2. Let the bars cool completely in the pan before cutting them into squares.

Notes

Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days, or refrigerate for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them for up to three months.
