Preparation
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Cut four sheets of heavy-duty foil, each measuring 12 x 18 inches.
- Place two lemon slices on each sheet of foil.
- In a small bowl, mix the paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture over the salmon fillets.
- Place each seasoned salmon fillet in the center of the lemon slices on each foil sheet.
- Divide the trimmed asparagus into four equal portions and arrange them next to the salmon on each piece of foil.
- In another small bowl, combine the melted butter, lemon juice, minced garlic, and fresh basil.
- Pour the butter mixture evenly over the salmon and asparagus in each packet.
- Wrap the salmon and asparagus in the foil, securely sealing the edges to form a packet.
Cooking
- Place the packets on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes.
- After baking, carefully open the foil packets and enjoy. Optionally, you can broil for 1-2 minutes to crisp the exterior.
Notes
Make sure to seal the foil packets tightly to keep the steam in; this helps cook the salmon evenly. Feel free to adjust the seasonings to suit your taste. If cooking for a larger group, you can easily double the ingredients.
