Ingredients

For the Salmon
  • 1 pound salmon filets Cut into approximately 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
For the Bang Bang Sauce
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by cutting the salmon filets into approximately 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, pepper, and sea salt to make the marinade.
  3. Add the salmon pieces to a medium bowl and pour the marinade over them. Toss to coat fully. Allow the salmon to marinate for up to 30 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Place the salmon bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook them at 400°F for about 7-10 minutes.
  2. Check for doneness by looking for a browned, crispy outside and an internal temperature of 145°F.
Making the Sauce
  1. While the salmon cooks, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and rice vinegar to create the Bang Bang sauce.
Serving
  1. After the salmon bites are cooked, let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Drizzle with the Bang Bang sauce and enjoy!

Notes

Make sure to cut the salmon into uniform pieces for even cooking. Don’t skip the marination step; it infuses great flavor and keeps the salmon moist. Adjust the level of sriracha in the Bang Bang sauce based on your spice preference. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
